When livestock are transported from a farm, feedlot or saleyard, this can often be a potential source of stress for these animals.  In order to maximise the welfare of animals when they are being prepared to be transported, are in transit or are being unloaded at their destination, the following guidelines have been implemented :

Code of Practice

The Code of Practice for the Welfare of Animals – Transport of Cattle is guide for people who are involved with transporting cattle. Its purpose is to provide guidelines for the considerate treatment of cattle so that transport stress and injury are minimised at all stages during the process of transportation. more

Truckcare

Truckcare is a voluntary quality assurance program developed by the Australian meat and livestock industry. The program is applied to livestock transportation and is centred on maximising animal welfare, meat quality and meat safety. more
