Livestock Production Assurance (LPA)

LPA is a voluntary on-farm food safety and quality assurance certification program designed to help the red meat industry strengthen systems currently in place. LPA provides a set of guidelines and a National Vendor Declaration (NVD) to help producers state the food safety status of their livestock. The CATTLECARE and Flockcare quality assurance schemes are also covered under LPA (level 2).

LPA Level 1

The Level 1 certification is required for producers to use a National Vendor Declaration for cattle, sheep and lambs, and goats. more

LPA Level 2

The On-Farm Quality Assurance Standard has been developed to provide a framework for producers to be able to readily adopt quality assurance systems on their properties. more
