Transport to export markets

An array of measures have been developed to follow-on from measures implemented in earlier steps of the supply chain to maintain the safety of Australian meat:

Container seals

Immediately on completion of loading, an Australian Government tamper proof Official Seal is applied to all export containers. The Official Seal is a unique seal with an individual number and characteristic identifying imprint. more

Temperature monitoring

Cartons of meat are loaded into refrigerated containers and transported to the port or airport under strict temperature controlled conditions. more

AQIS Health Certificate

Once meat is ready for exporting, the processing plant will electronically request an AQIS Health Certificate. The AQIS Health Certificate states that the meat produced by the export meat processor has conformed to AQIS regulations and meets the importing country requirements.  more
