As well as on-farm traceability systems (PICs and the NLIS), the NVD waybill form is used as a mechanism to continue the system of traceability through the livestock transportation stage of the supply chain.  Furthermore, EAN numbering can continue to be used.

Property Identification Code

Property Identification Code (PICs) tags remain attached to livestock during transport. more

National Vendor Declaration

The Property Identification Code on the National Vendor Declaration form is used to link the livestock being transported to the last property of origin. The NVD informs the transporter and the receiver of the livestock on the history of the animals. more

National Livestock Identification Systems

NLIS devices remain attached to livestock during transport. more

EAN Numbering

The unique EAN  based number applied to each individual animal remains attached to livestock during transport. more
