It is a requirement that stock arriving at export abattoirs can be traced to the last property of residence.

Under their approved quality assurance arrangement companies are also required to have systems in place that will enable the tracing of product forward to the point of export.

Once boxed, all Australian beef, lamb and mutton is labelled clearly for product traceback, including:

  • Australia Inspection Stamp
  • Processor’s establishment number
  • Species
  • Date of production
  • Processing company
  • Net weight statement
  • Refrigeration statement
  • Category of meat
